A marketplace that matches shippers to freight forwarders by route, rate and service, from parcel to full container.
The problem
A Singapore-based startup wanted to bring freight forwarders, their routes, rates and services onto one platform, so a customer could describe a shipment and be matched with a suitable forwarder.
What we built
- Shipment wizardPackages, weights and dimensions, then a forwarder, pick-up and drop-off, and payment.
- Container calculationWorks out how many containers a large shipment needs.
- Forwarder matchingSuggests forwarders that serve the requested origin and destination.
- Forwarder onboardingForwarders sign up and upload routes and rates from Excel, parsed straight into the platform.
- Invoices on the flyGenerated per booking, with online or cash payment.
How it's built
Angular with PrimeNG, Spring Boot on Apache Tomcat, MySQL, Apache POI for Excel processing, deployed on AWS EC2.
Results
- The complete platform was built and demonstrated. The startup did not secure funding, so it was not launched commercially.
